Dimmer Switch | GM Style | Changing to Push Button??

    All,
Does anyone know if you can wire a GM dimmer high/low dimmer, foot controlled switch to a push button switch?

    Taking this switch:
    https://www.americanautowire.com/sho...er-switch-4390

Turning it into a push button, you mount it on the dash, example:
    https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c...i0/84822?pos=0

What on/off push button switch would work? How would you wire?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Matt

I'm planning to wire the momentary button on the end of the stalk of the RT turn signal as the high/low beam switch and flash-to-pass using this relay from Ididit. I would think (though can't confirm) that any momentary button would work similarly.
MkIV Roadster build: Gen 2 Coyote, IRS, TKO600. Ordered 10/24/18. Delivered 1/29/19. Engine installed 8/8/21. First start 9/12/21. First go-kart 9/17/21. Off to paint 4/11/22. Back from paint 12/30/22. Build thread here.

I'm using the IDIDIT also and it works great. And yes, a momentary button switch will work with the IDIDIT. All the switch does is key the relays.
FFR MKIV ordered 12 July 2019. IRS, Wilwood Brakes, 18" Wheels w/MT tires, power steering, EFI, Heat. 347 Dart w/TKO-600 by Mike Forte, Holley FI, MSD coil and CD box. All new, no donor build.

This will be a project for the winter (maybe) for me as well. I installed the Russ Thompson turn signal setup this year, and plan to move my foot-operated headlight dimmer to the button (momentary switch) on the stalk. I bought the ididit dimmer relay for this, which appears to be very hard to find right now. Summit Racing has two options available:

    This worked perfect:

    https://www.amazon.com/GAMA-Electron.../dp/B001PNIKEY

High beam and light indicator get wired together…

    All on one side:
    Hot to the middle
    Low beam light to bottom
High beam/high beam light indicator to top

    Hope this helps…

I was unable to find a 30amp SPDT push button switch

We went a new direction with the Russ Thompson switch on the end of the turn signal switch. Got tired of the inconsistency of the currently available latching relays and went with a latching switch instead.
