Question Has anyone installed the Restomod Air Cyclone-S A/C unit?

This was recommended to me since I'm still in build - out here in NorCal it gets over 100F many days in the summer - and yes I know the A/C will blow out of the car!
My wife and I have had a few Miatas and we really enjoyed having A/C even when the top was down - just to have cool air blowing on you at a stoplight was a godsend!

The Restomod Air looks to be a pretty compact unit - but 'anything' extra in the engine bay is at risk of space availability, even at 17.5" x 6.5" x 10"

I can measure my heater when I get home but that's not THAT much bigger. I wouldn't rule out that it could be done.

That is a sweet little unit.

Gen 3? An important distinction. The Gen 3's have much less space than the previous versions due to the space frame design. Looks like a nice option if it fits the Gen 3.

The FFR unit measures 9x7x5. Significantly smaller but if you don’t have wipers there is room to work with. I don’t know how close the coyote is to the firewall.

the Coyote has more room between the block and firewall... is that the FFR A/C unit?

    Hello,
I could not find the FFR AC on their website. How can I find it. It looks mice and small.
I am currently trying to fit a unit that is 15 x 12 x 5 and it is a tight squeeze.

    thumb_DSCF2110_1024.jpgthumb_DSCF2140_1024.jpg

It is mounted in an aluminum box for a plenum since the fans suck air from behind the unit and I don't want engine air in the cockpit.

I would like to get the FFR unit.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

The unit Blitzboy shows in post #6 appears to be the Vintage Air heater unit sold by F5. No A/C.

There is a small 10x5x7 AC called MiniKooler sold by SouthernRods for about $300. Just search for MiniKooler on the web. Don't know any more about it 'tho.

On this Restomod unit, would the entire unit mount in the engine bay? Then you just route the hoses through the firewall to the dash or footboxes? Just comparing to the Northracecars unit which I'm considering, which is partially mounted into the space between the dash/firewall, with the blower and evaporator extending into the engine side of the firewall.

I am interested in this myself here in Texas 100+ temps. I read the FFR is OK, can help you stay cooler. I would like the best I can afford at the time. Trying to get information on everything before ordering.

my wife and I have driven miata's for several years, having A/C blowing on you with the top down is nice up to a certain point - if it's over 100F, it's not gonna help to be honest
I'm building for the future, and if a soft top is available, I may get it but - at least the A/C will be available
