Hey guys,

I read through the long post about the ABS setup but I wanted to have one here just for dialing in the proportioning valve for full Manual setups to make it easier to get answers. I''m running the 4 pot front brakes and a single pot rear with Stoptech Street pads and I'm working to get the right bias. I plan on posting my findings here after some hot laps at the track but for those who are on the street with a non-ABS system, please post your set up and "how many turns from full out" number to help others start the process of fine tuning this. From my understanding (and experience with the hot rod) the best way is to jack up the car, step on the break pedal enough to have the fronts lock, while having the rears engaging with enough force so you can still barely turn the wheels. Sound right? Let me know! Thanks!

That sounds like a good starting point. Like someone pointed out to me with my idea of tweaking the bias in snow, forward weight shift will need to be accounted for to keep those rears turning in heavy braking, don't want the rear end to snap around. Mine has a 4 pot front, 2 pot rear setup. With your smaller sounding rear calipers, the brake bias balance might start out close. I'll be watching this thread! Good idea.

EDIT: in other words, the snow idea would balance the bias for static conditions, but a dynamic balance under hard braking was pointed out as being the goal here.

Oops, I thought that through wrong. The smaller rear brake will likely require a bigger adjustment of the front brake bias. I never bothered asking FFR how much adjustment they used, with what brake setup, to find a starting point.

I've been screwing the thing in and out and still can't get the rears to lock. It doesn't seem to make a difference. I know you probably don't eve want them to lock but it's strange I can't get it to with the adjuster. I need to call wilwood/FFR.

Assuming you have the valve mounted on the front brake system, you just may not have enough leverage to lock the rears. The valve mounted in front should not affect your ability to lock the rears.

I was speaking to Erik Treves this morning and I think I found the problem. He asked if I drilled the hole in the pedal for better leverage and I'm pretty sure I did but I think I may have just assembled it in the wrong hole when I was putting the brakes together! Can't wait to get home and find out. AH---LAAAAAME!! :)
