Since the Autometer tach that came with the kit only had settings for 2, 4 or 8 cylinders I needed something to convert s 1 cylinder signal to an 8 cylinder signal. I used a Dakota Digital SGI-100BT Universal Speedometer and Tachometer Interface. I programed it for a 1 cylinder input and an 8 cylinder output, works like a charm.
Yes, that's a solution. JUST an FYI for all, Dakota Digital gives cylinder options for 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 16 Cylinder (there may be other options I can't recall e.g., 3, and 12 cylinders). I believe the 16 is if you get a .5 (1/2) pulse. I think 16 is also for dual sparkplug per cylinder engines
