    15 Inch Rim Options

    All,
What have you used for 15 inch rims outside of the Factory Five offering? I ordered rims last July and my order was just pushed back another 6 weeks....

Has anyone used these rims with IRS:

    Rims.JPG

    15 x 8 and 15 x 10, cast finish, with knock-offs, lug covers (will clear PBR calipers)
    8" wheel 5.25" BS, 10" wheel 6.25" BS

As I understand, they use to produce the wheels for Factory Five.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance...

Very interesting. They also make pin-drive options in various backspacing in 17" & 18". One wonders if they are capable for 15" also. I dropped them a note.

These are 15” wheels for cobra, different than factory five offering. Also, try vintage wheels.

They have done a nice job with those wheels. Sunbburst came on original street cars, and I see Rocket has done a better job with those.

For a street car with IRS, how would an 8" rim with 4.5" backspace fit and look on a roadster? Or 3.75" backspace?

A better question is what 15" tires are available. Because if you want something with grip in a 15" offering, you're pretty much out of luck. If all you plan to do with the car is go to car shows and Car & Coffee you'll be fine. On the other hand, if you think you'll be wanting to do any open track or auto-cross, plan now for a second set of wheels and tires in a 17 or 18 inch size.

Go to ET Wheels (also Team 3 wheels). They offer nice Halibrand replica wheel packages (AC lll) in various sizes including 15 inch diameter specifically for Factory Five roadsters.

Not true. There are really good 15" tires out there, they just are expensive. Just pick up a set of AVON'S, they are as good as any 17 or 18" tire.
The Cooper Cobra'a are a good street tire, marginal as a performance tire.

What are the dimensions of the center hub spinner adapter for the FFR Halibrand bolt-in replica wheels? The Rocket wheel's adapter hub bore is 3.08" on the Sunburst and then tapers down to 2.79" where the center cap sits. Their spinner is branded, while the Halibrand is not, and unbranded is good.

Might the Halibrand adapter fit in the Rocket Sunburst wheel?

What about Hoosier TDs? I’m looking at a set as an alternative to Goodyears. Has anyone run them?

Bringing this thread back up, question: does the 15" Halibrand wheels fit with the FFR Wilwood brake upgrade?

Second question: if the answer is no, what Wilwood option would fit 15" wheels?

My understanding is factory five’s wilwood set up does not work with their 15” wheels. Check with Gordon Levy (forum sponsor?), he has wilwood set for this application.

That is correct, Gordon has Wilwood that will work w/ 15 in rims.

I’ve got Factory Five’s 15 inch rear brake package and added power brakes — stops on a dime.

Wilwood are awesome…knowing what I know now…power brakes are amazing but to keep things simpler I would have gone with Levy’s setup
