MKV rear end - sitting low

Hi All -
Just looking at my rear end, it it seems to be sitting a little lower than the frame. As far as I can see everything is bolted up, and followed the manual. Is this normal for the MK5? I know the frame is different than the MK4, so I wanted to see if anyone else is seeing this.

Sorry, I'll let someone who might actually be helpful chime in now...

I thought about that honestly - but the 3 link bracket is welded to the axel. If it was flipped, it would be pointing down, as near as I can tell.

Steve's Stupid Questions & Comments:

1. Do you have the rear shocks mounted in the upper or lower holes?
2. If you have them in the lower holes, could you move them up?
3. By taking this action it may be fairly easy remedy this issue.
4. If you are in the uppers, you may want to call Factory-5.

That might buy you the clearance that you are looking for when the car is in full droop.

You're fine. Rotate the snout up with the bronze colored upper link bar, shown in your pic #3.

it's hanging! Set the ride height and pinion angle.

You have the pinion pointing down, the 3rd link bar looks like it is as short as it will go. I agree with the others, raise the front of the pinion, lengthen the bar

You're going to be removing that upper link. There are no jam nuts on the rod ends. You need those to lock it in place.

GodadGo, you bring up an interesting question. I am working on a MK5 also, and checked my manual for which hole to use in the upper shock mounting bracket.
The MK4 manual, which I also have, on page 76 says to mount the shock in the lower hole. On page 98 of my MK5 manual there is no reference as to which hole to use. I mounted mine in the lower hole, but now realize I have no basis for that as nothing is specified in the manual.
Further research is required.

Upper holes for double adjustable Konis. Bottom holes for single adjustable Koni (red bodied) coilovers.
