The club showed up @ 9 and got to work after looking over the mk4. Dan, Kerry, Kathy, Mark, Tim, and Rich.

We got the body buck assembled and positioned the body on it (twice). You’d think the “experts” would know which end is the front of the buck! LOL Tucked away under the deck until it goes back on.

Leo joined us and checked out the tranny.

After everyone left, Scott (neighbor / friend / car-building buddy) and I started on the IFS (Independent Front Suspension). Wow, a couple of those shock spacers were a PITA! Got it assembled, but I think I’m missing the ¾” nuts for the LCA (Lower Control Arms) bolts. I checked the boxes twice but couldn’t find them. (are they in another box?)

Caught this guy running through the garage, so I put him to work too.
I always liked Leo’s sock-monkey mascot!

Installing the Passenger Side spindle. I need to ask my good buddy Rich to powder coat the IFS brackets for me. (why doesn’t FFR PC these like the other IFS components?) Guess I need to hunt down the donor spindle bolts too.

Talked Ann (the Project Budget Controller) into taking it for a spin, but she refused to make Vroom sounds (“why that’s just silly, you’re not going to put this picture on face book!”) ok. Honey, I won’t put it on facebook!

Then Scott took me for a spin around the garage! (we both made Vroom sounds!)
