MPTech: Building my Factory Five Roadster
I've been a Gearhead since I was a kid. My dad and uncle were car guys and always had some kind of motor projects going all the time. Mini-bikes, go-karts, classics, muscle-cars, big engines, you name it. The first car I remember was my dad's beautiful red Galaxie 500 Convertible, he built a cool Purple Dune Buggy in the 60's, once bought a Drag '32 Ford Vickie, and built an MG-TD replica when I was in college. They were home-garage mechanics and proved to me that if you want to build something cool, you'll figure out a way.
In January 2009, I was surfing the internet and came across a website showing Factory Five Racing's 427 Cobra replica that could be reasonably built for around 25k. That seemed like a reasonable cost to feed my car desire. I researched, planned, and saved for 2 years and ordered my Dream Car in January 2011.
