Well after the supercharger and intake were painted the poor alternator stuck out like a sore thumb so I disassembled it, painted it, and replaced the bearing just for good measure. My explorer intake was looking a little rough so I bought some Summit brand single stage urethane paint and set out to make my top end shiny. The color is a dark metallic silver. It shows off well in the sunshine. I thought about a stroker, then about turbos, then maybe just new heads, and then about a supercharger. After much planning, plotting, and reading I finally went with the Vortech V3-SCi kit. It was their lowest cost system @ $1800 delivered. My reasons for the choice were Vortech's great history of quality products, price, no oil lines needed, and the power increase stories around the new SCi and Si blowers. My first task was the tear down and moving the alternator to the drivers side. ...
