HRM build page

I have been at LK motorsports all day today working on the prep for the 1 week build. Today we orginized the shop in prep for the build. We set up tables for the front end and rear end. We plan on setting goals for each section and each day of the build

Day 1 we plan on getting the hotrod to roller. Front and rear suspension are laid out on seperate tables. We think we can also intall the steering, brake and fuel lines. Day 2 may include the body intall stay tuned.

Yesterday we removed the mounts for the dual roll bars and Lang welded in the new mounts for the single roll bar. We received the engine which is a boss 347 w/450 HP. We began dressing it up with the parts provided by Ford Racing. today we will mate the transmission to the engine. Trans is a TKO 500.


We then brought Lang's LK Motorsports black and green car to the Ford Racing both at the Knotts show. We will be at the Knotts show for a couple hours, before we make it back to the shop to receive the rearend, and head out to the cookout.

Today we went to Knotts Ford show and hunfg int he Ford Racing booth. Plenty of cool cars there and lots of interest in the FFR Hot Rod. Work starts tomorrow on the 1 week build. We plan of having it done on friday and then taking it to the knotts kit car show on saturday.

Here are some more pics from yesterday. We are alomost ready to fire the car up. Lang from LK is making an exhaust the will exit out the rear similar to the one on his car. He may have them for sale in the near future.

They wanted a really clean firewall so I mounted the res. there. spent a hour or so on that bracket.

Steering is in. Feels really good. No binding. Eric spent lots of time on that getting it just right

I can't say enough about our team here. Their are builder from all over, with varying skill levels and everyone is working great together. It is awesome to see all the different tips and tricks that everyone has for different things.

Anyway here are some pics from late last night. The pinstriper was there laying down the red. Looks really nice.

There are tons of pics. Everyone had cameras with them, but they have been to busy to post. After dinner on most days some folks came back to the shop to BS and tinker a little bit.

Well it is day 5 so here are the pics. We finished up around 7pm and then went out to dinner to celebrate. There were plenty of beers all around and even some Champane.

I can't beleive that the Hot Rod Mag car build was almost 2 years ago. Time has really been flying. I had such a great time on this build not so much fun moving the pics and stuff from the other site. If you want to read the whole thing follow this link. LK originally had them built by Bassani and was selling them. I believe FFR has taken over selling them and are available on the parts page on the FFR website.
