This is a question for Brandon and others that know the inner workers of the subaru AWD drive train.
The question: obviously if you flip a front engine AWD to rear engine AWD you get 1 forward speed and 5 reverse speeds. This helped FFR make the decision to go midengine and RWD.
But, if you flip to rear engine AWD and then invert the differentials then BAM you get rear engine AWD with 5 forward speeds and 1 reverse. Obviously inverting the pumpkin diff is easy. But the hard part would be to invert the diff enclosed in the tranny. However, if the tranny truly is symmetric, then flipping that diff should be possible too. Do you experts know if this is the case?
If so, it should be possible to mod this car into AWD :)
