I'm interested in the Artillery style wheels from WheelSmith but was told by them that a 1" spacer is required to fit the Wilwood brakes etc. Does that also apply the the wire wheels shown in the FF catalogue?
Any wheel fitting information would be welcome before I go too far down the rabbit hole.

I'm not familiar with the Artillery style wheels you mention. Bui for the wire wheels shown in the FF catalog, I'm pretty sure that's the truck that Ron Everitt built for Factory Five with Wheelsmith wire wheels. Back when I built my truck, I contact Ron and he provided the details for those wheels and that's what I ordered from Wheelsmith: 18" diameter, 8" width, 5 on 4.50" lugs (also includes 4.75"), 5.00" backspace. Per Ron: Installed 1" spacers front and rear to clear the brakes. The wheel hub hit the brakes so a different offset/backspace would not have helped.

For my build, I followed his advice and installed 1" hub centric spacers (important) on all four corners. To clear the brakes but also to better fit the rear wheel/tires into the truck fenders that i installed. My truck build thread is linked in my sig line below.
