Has anyone had to shorten the rear quick jack body spacer tubes to get the door opening edge the 1/8 to 1/4” forward of the striker plate? I have room for the body to move forward at the front cowl and it needs to go forward over the rear cowl as well. Roll bar needs it forward a little as well. I don’t see anything else stopping it from moving forward. Also, what points of the chassis ( if any) does the body sit on other than rear quick jack tubes, front bolts and side screws. Mine is resting on front cowl and rear cowl driver side corner right now. Mark V roadster.

Although in the end I made hidden body mounts and deleted the quick jacks and bumpers altogether on my Mk5 but while doing the initial fitting and mockup I did just like I do with Mk4s and tossed the internal spacers in the trash. With the Mk5s captured speed nuts you can do my rear mod without the coupler nuts and still use the all thread.

I had same issue. For me when I did that the hood was off. So I’ll probably need to re-drill the mount holes.
