Newbie first timer here, MK5 arrives this week!

I have a clear 2-car garage, 3-ton floor jack, two jack stands, hand truck and a utility cart.
What other equipment would be useful for the day of delivery?

Also, I read about a chassis dolly and body buck that seems very useful. I'm planning to build those, I found these plans:

If you don't have the chassis dolly ready you'll need two more jackstands; one for each corner. Mk5 is flat bottomed so Jazzman's frame dolly isn't going to be appropriate unless you eliminate the "stairsteps" that cradle the Mk4's round tubes. I just added another 4x4 across the top of my old Mk3/4 dolly to bridge the round tube cutouts when I used it for a Coupe and it also accommodated my Mk5.

Don't forget that you will need plenty of room for boxes!

Good luck with the delivery!

Thank you for this tip, I will build a dolly before delivery. It looks like your dolly fits perfect, can you share the dimensions?

Or is it the same dimensions as this one (44x60"):

FYI here is the link to Jazzman's cradle thread. I pulled it up today as I need one too :)

It's 40" by 60" and flat on the top.

I have a 4'x4' flat dolly that we used to move the chassis/body into my shop. I used that for the first few steps of the build, but as the car's weight distribution started to shift more toward the rear as suspension and the rear diff were added, I transferred the car onto four jack stands and have been building on those since. I also have a set of wheels/tires that I can mount if I need to move the car at this point.

I also have a set of wheel dollies to sit the car on with the wheels/tires to give me more maneuverability when the time comes for that.

Thanks for sharing, looks great!
I whipped up this dolly 44"x60" - I think it will work perfect.

Now, I will work on the body buck!
