Has anyone out there ordered a coyote gen 4x through the FFR Advanced Technologies page. Any input on how the install is on the Mk4. Is the FFR setup as drop in and go as they explain or are there other modifications that need to be made like oil pan and oil pickup that needs to be swapped out. I know there are countless thread on the coyote build but more so looking for input about the FFR provided setup. Also figure some time has gone by where a little bit more progress and experience has been made with this setup.

On their Gen3 Coyote package, they would do all the oil pickup and oil pan work for you, and even bolt up the clutch and tranny for a fee. I assume they're offering that on the Gen4x, as well. Might be worth calling them to ask some questions, but their website says it comes fully prepped and assembled. factoryfive-at.com (https://www.factoryfive-at.com/)

Any idea on how the gen 4x fit is besides tight in a mk4. Thought I read in another post the gen 4 is a little trickier in the mk4 than the mk 5 due to the tubes. A lot of info on the gen 3 but it seems the gen 4x talk is limited to the past year at most. Curious if the fit and setup will be similar enough if not identical to a gen 3.

The Gen4x talk is limited to the past year, because it's only been available about that long. From what I've read here on the forum, its fits in a MkIV similarly to the Gen3. Check the Build Threads section of the Roadster Forum. There's several build threads with MkIV/Gen4x.

You wouldn't even know the difference between a GEN3 and 4. I have bought at least a dozen from them with no issues.

There is a header bolt layout change on the Gen 4 on one side. Sorry I don't recall which side. Just make sure you get headers for a Gen 4. Ford went back to a steel oil pan versus the composite (aka plastic) pan on the Gen 3. So the oil pickup, windage tray/gasket, are different. But if you have the low profile pan installed by someone, will be taken care of. The overall footprint is the same.

Just like Mike and Paul said - you wouldn’t know that there’s a difference between the Gen3 and Gen4x if you get a complete package from someone. The DS header pattern is different but that’s pretty much it. I’ve just installed a Gen4x and I’m just about at first start - I tried to document every step in my build thread.
