Hi all. Hoping someone can confirm this for me.
There are two power feeds into the headlight switch. The first (RED-HDLT SW 1 FEED) powers the headlights and the second (RED-HDLT SW 2 FEED) powers the dash lights and park lights.

My problem is that it according to the schematic in the RF manual, only RED-HDLT SW 2 FEED is protected with a fuse. Whereas RED-HDLT SW 1 FEED receives power from the battery terminal on the ignition switch which is connected directly to the battery by way of the starter solenoid.

Does anyone who is past this point know if there is a fuse that they can pull that shuts off both lowbeam and highbeam headlights? Wondering if I should splice a fuse in to this power feed.
Below is the schematic from the RF book
Thanks

The Delco style headlight switch provided with the kit has an internal circuit breaker for the headlight circuit. So it has a direct battery feed from the ignition switch, as you described, and is internally protected. Nothing additional required. The rest of the lights, e.g. running lights, turn signals, brakes, etc. go through the fuse panel and are protected there.

BTW, I see guys deleting the kit provided headlight switch and using their own, e.g. toggle, whatever. Hopefully they are adding a fuse or breaker.

Thanks for the detail, I do plan on using different switches for the lights so I will make sure to add a fuse.
Thanks

I'd put a circuit breaker for headlights. The reason it's on vehicles is that you don't "totally lose" light. The breaker will go on/off to at least allow you to get safe. But, to each their own.
