View Full Version : Raising ride height on 818r but I'm maxed out

My 818r is super low. My extended oil pan is less than 2 inches off the ground and the lowest point. Too low.
My red shocks are already in the lower mounting holes up top.
I have 500 pound springs and every spring is adjusted to be under load even at full droop so I can't adjust them higher. The shock length is the limiting factor.
So why is it still so low?

The lower mounting points are for the R ride height which per the manual is for 3.5" and tops out at 4" ground clearance (frame off the ground). I had to switch to the upper holes to raise my car to 4.5" ground clearance. For the red Konis you need to disassemble them in order to rotate the shaft to change the damper settings. Kind of a pain.

Send me your email and I can email you the FFR manual and the 818R supplemental manual.

Wouldn't the upper holes lower the frame of the car because you're moving the lower arm up?

You are correct. The upper holes are for the "R" and the lower holes are for the "S". I also have found that my "R" sits too low. I use the "S" mounting holes (the lower ones) to get to a reasonable ride height. With that and the Koni Reds I get 4.25" in the front and 4.5" in the rear.

Sorry I had the holes backwards you were correct.

Am I seeing this right? That pic looks like your front shocks are in the upper holes, while the control arms are in the lower holes?
As noted, I'm in all the lower holes and get the 4.25-4.5" clearance.

I extended my front bearing mount to get the ride height I wanted.
This is my as-built picture, except I changed my rear springs from 600 to 500.
