I created some new parts and add the items to the store.

Sheet Metal Access Panel, these work great in the coupe to provide access to the rear brake lighting, but will work in any other car. They are oval shaped so you can get your arm through the hole. You will need to cut a hole and rivet the backing panel to the backside of the panel that you want access through. The backing panel has threaded inserts that are used to attach the cover door with number 6 screws.

Gauge Panel Blank, if you are looking to make a custom gauge layout in your FFR Daytona Coupe, this panel will replace the one supplied with your kit and comes without the cutouts.

Brent - these items look great. Keep them coming. Any progress on the backup lights?

That is on the list. Working on trying to figure out a cost effective solution that is not way over priced. Right now it requires a clear molded lens, with a machine bezel and housing. The machining state side is a killer for cost.

@burchfieldb: wish you had a few of these items when I started!

Have you considered making door inserts (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?26630-Edwardb%92s-Gen-3-Type-65-Coyote-Coupe-59-Build-5-000-Mile-Report&p=374173&viewfull=1#post374173) for storage a la @edwardb? I will be your first customer on those if you do.

Yeah, that is something I can do. I was thinking I could easily modify the glove box to fit and then it could have a door if desired? Or just make an open frame.

I know I would not want a door; however, I don't think a door would work anyways because there is not enough room to open it unless the door was open. I also think having a grab bar to close the door is a requirement along with the mounting taps like @EdwardB (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?26630-Edwardb%92s-Gen-3-Type-65-Coyote-Coupe-59-Build-5-000-Mile-Report&p=374173&viewfull=1#post374173).

What do you think about one like Namrups (Scott) that is made out of sheet metal, dips down into the door, and has the handle?

3D printed would be good, too. I think it would be important to be able to put a grab bar in it for support.

A few more items: since Russ’ products are hard to come by these days, the pontoon panels and door sills would be a big seller, IMO. Offering a kit for the hood rollers would be awesome, too.

Definitely a grab bar. I was thinking of trying to get some more use out of the space in the door compartment. I have plans for lots of other items as well that will be coming soon.

I really like the idea of the door insert like @Namrups but has a has a trim ring so you can upholster up to/behind it. Maybe make a handle optional since the cup acts as handle as is.

I was thinking about some other items re: new designs and one of the things I landed on are detail pieces. In my mind it's always the little things that really finish a car off.

While we were talking about door pockets, etc. it made me think billet mounting bosses for leather door pulls might be kind of cool. Something that would essentially allow a builder to fashion pulls out of whatever leather he/she chooses (similar to the door retaining straps) but the part that has the attachment anchors and bolts to the door would be provided i.e. the part difficult to manufacture. I know trying to find competitive machining is cost prohibitive but just a thought.

I am adding some leather pull handles to mine, on the upper roll cage by the windshield, and plan on using metal grommets to tighten the screws to.

I just received my glovebox which Brent built custom for my car to clear a shelf I mounted behind the dash and it is fabulous, also got a couple access panels to use for the lights in back, as well as the horn mounts behind the radiator tunnel. Can't say enough about Brent and his stuff is top notch! So glad you're doing this Brent...now if we can replicate the door sills and find a way to get them engraved with "Daytona" or other logo that would be great!

Brent -- thanks so much for your help!

Installed mine over the weekend.
Aside from the jigsaw track marks, they came out pretty good.
Should have cut them from the back side... what a dum-dum rookie mistake

Thanks Brent.

Don't you love those forehead smacking moments? I have at least one a week.

Sounds like a good note to add to the assembly instructions.

I should have known better, but, I get where you're coming from.
I stopped and checked the bottom of the baseplate, it was clean, no burrs, think it was just due to it's shape, couple of "bevels" under there, it's not flat.
I'm having everything back there powder coated, so hoping after prep and powder, it should cover the marks.

I've been there, seems like these cars involve alot of this. ;) It should be fine, the powder coater will blast it to get a smooth finish.

I use a jigsaw to cut my panels. As long as it's not gouged the scuffs fill right in with powder coat. They don't come through, I've never cleaned them up and mine are smooth.

600 grit and some steel wool will take care of that.

I hit them with a Green Scotch Pad and it took about 80% of it away.

Thanks Guys
