First I have been fighting the known issue of front brakes overheating and sticking for 2 years. About to install new powerstop calipers with the carlson 7964 steel pistons. Just looking for opinions re the rotors. Any opinions on also installing drilled and coated zinc rotors.
The history of the front brakes (from a 2010 or so Mustang GT) is well documented

Drilled rotors are for bling only. They do not provide any functional benefit. They do have a propensity to propagate stress cracks, and shorten the service life.
Slots are good for racing. But shorten the life of the pads and create more dust. Not needed or recommended for a street car.
I like the zinc coating. Without it, the steel outside of the pad sweep area tends to rust and look ugly.

Bob,
I thought that would be the answer, since the rust probably increases the drag.

Bob,

And increases unsprung weight. :)
