Hello all, I know this has been discussed, I have done thread searches and thought I knew the answer until I seen I current thread on another forum.

I have a Gen 1 coyote with the Moroso oil pan, the manufacturer date was 2013 and I know Moroso and Forte got involved in an oil pan issue around that time where the dip stick was hitting the windage tray and bending giving false readings on oil level.

I have the replacement oil pan with the modified hole for the dip stick however I still find it slightly vague to see the definitive oil line on the dip stick. I've done it dozens of times and can see the oil level line but it looks a bit distorted with oil above the line and what looks like a bit of a scraping below the line (I hope that makes sense)

I recently bypassed my oil cooler, I kept the remote oil filter which has approx 4 feet of line out and in and also uses a larger than stock oil filter PUR PBL34631

I filled with about 9 quarts of oil all in, this put the oil level correct on the stock dip stick (as best as I can see it) checked it multiple times and again appears to be right in the middle of the correct level.

I read all different volumes for this and even read something that Moroso was recommending upwards of 10 plus quarts.

Doesn't sound right to me and would think that much would put my level in the danger of foaming zone.

I would also think that the level is more important over volume on this stock coyote.

Any input on total oil volume with similar set up would be great, I understand I have a slightly larger oil filter and I can find the difference between this one and the stock shorter coyote filter but how much oil is going in the normal coyote with Moroso pan and oil filter relocation kit.

I put in just about 10qts of oil into my dry coyote with moroso oil pan. Engine's been running just fine so far.

EDIT: The way I decided when to stop filling was via the oil dip stick. When the dip stick comes out it's pretty straight and not bent anywhere, so if it's actually bending and twisting from contact with the windage tray then I couldn't tell.

Thank you, I'm definitely not getting a bent dip stick and feel no resistance when putting the dip stick in... the updated Moroso oil pan is in the car but still sometimes tough to see a clear full line but I can see one.

I put in 9 quarts including full drain and filling oil filter, definitely shows mid way in the safe zone on the dip stick.

I've read some pretty certain builders who all have different answers on this and some again over 10 quarts

Just wanted to see what people are putting in for volume with the Gen 1, moroso and oil filter relocation.

I think I'm gonna get it close as I can to the top of the grid on the dip stick (low and high grid)

My coyote wasn't "dry" but drained with plug out for a while and again new and filled filter.

I would think level would dictate volume and not the other way around.

Again just wanted to see if I'm way out of range as it's hard to find a 100% definite answer.

I agree it can be difficult to read and I did the windage tray clearance mod. You kinda have to finagle the dipstick out so it doesn't scrape the sides on the way. The best thing for checking are the holes above and below the range, the DS might be damp with oil but its much more obvious when the hole is filled. You want the bottom one but not the top and you are in the range. I think I put over 11 in the car when dry but I have a the remote oil filter and the oil cooler in the nose. When I did my last oil change I put 9 in then kept checking it after a few running cycles and I think it was shy of 10 qts (closer to 9.5).

Gen 1 coyote with the moroso pan.

You should see a clean line. Are you sure the "slot" is in the correct position. FWIW no cooler & about 8+qts on my pan. I had to retrofit the slotted plate, original had no slot. IIRC its possible to mount the plate with the slot in the wrong place.
