Hi all,
I have a build date of early June and need to confirm transmission choice. When I ordered the TKX was not available so I went T56.
Looking at various threads it looks like the bottom of the T56 bellhousing will need to be trimmed. If I go with the TKX will this also require the bellhousing to be trimmed? I'm sourcing the Coyote engine and gearbox from Factory Five so assume the TKX would have the standard alloy bellhousing.
Any other clearance issues to be aware of with the T56? The T56 looks massive compared with the TKX. This is for a right hand drive coupe if it makes a difference.
Thanks,
Dan

I can't respond to any differences for RH drive. I'm assuming the engine and trans would be in the same location as the LH drive. That being the case, these responses. Agree the T56 is large compared to the TKO. Mainly in length but also a bit bigger around. Compared to the slimmed down TKX, the T56 certainly looks big. But I have a Coyote plus T56 in my Gen 3 Coupe and can confirm if fits without any modification. Depending on your rear suspension, you'll have to work with the trans mount at the back to get the proper pinion angle. But that shouldn't be a big deal. Unless something has changed, there is only one bell housing available for the Coyote/T56 combination, and that's the QuickTime RM-8080, and will require trimming to not stick below the frame on the Coupe. Picture below is from my build and shows how much.

A TKX I believe has both a QuickTime steel bell and aluminum alloy bell available. I did a Roadster build with a Coyote and TKO (same mounting dimensions as the TKX) with a QuickTime RM-6080. It doesn't have the full circle like the TM-8080 because it's non-SFI. Had to be trimmed just slightly for the Roadster. I don't know if the Coupe would be the same. I haven't had experience with an aluminum bell housing with the Coyote, so don't know what if anything would hang below the frame.

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for the information. I have decided to go for the TKX. Factory Five have confirmed that engine and trans is in same location RHD and LHD. They also supply the RM6080.

Your build thread is incredible, a fantastic resource.
