For anyone considering building a coupe using a modular hopefully some of these photos will be helpful. We just started the footbox aluminum and decided to drop the engine in place to figure out what needed to be modified. I bought the roadster 4.6 aluminuim panels for the drivers side footbox and they work just fine in the coupe. I ended up bending the passenger side inner footbox aluminum to accomodate the head and valve cover. The front of the box remained unchanged.

Cool idea, thanks for sharing. Have you checked to see how much hood clearance you are going to have with the mod motor?

Not yet but I know it's been done by someone else. Since the mod motor isn't the pretiest up top I am planning to cut out the center hood bulge and bolt it to the top of the motor as a lid and shaker.

A shaker coupe will be awesome! Keep us posted.

Tim,
Please keep the photos and info coming. I am using a 302-based engine but am seriously considering building my footboxes to accept a modular motor, particularly a new 5.0. That may sound ridiculous, but I hope to own and drive (i.e., race the living daylights of out) the car long enough to go through a few engines.

Do you have any measurements for the footbox after the mod (relative to frame points)?

I can take some tomorrow and post them up
