Touchy subject I know...... I do know I've seen some folks running them though.

While SoDak doesn't necessarily require bumper on this kit car (I checked) our drivers are, well, lets just say ....... terrible. Too many young people getting their licenses at 14 (old agricultural law) and too many people looking down at their damn phones. I'm exaggerating a bit, but I think we lead the nation in rear end accidents from inattentive driving.

I was looking at the 32 Ford straight bumper from Speedway motors (link below), I think it would look alright on the back of the car....my only thought was how did guys who installed their bumpers do it?

My first thought was to use the panhard bar bracket since I'm not running one, and run a 1" steel tube from that bracket across to the other side of the shock mount (where the panhard bar would tie into) and then fabricate some brackets to attach to that, but I'm not sure.

I tried the search feature and didn't see anything specific. Anyone know how folks who have rear bumpers are attaching their rear bumpers?

No sense putting on a rear bumper if it is not going to do what it is intended to.

If i could find a decent looking front bumper I may do the same but there too, not sure off hand how to mount it.

Thanks in advance.

The only one ive ever seen with bumpers is one on Facebook
Go to the Factory Five 33 Hot Rod Builders group and search on "bumper", you will see a post from October 2020.
He was going to post some pics of his custom brackets and how he mounted but i dont believe he ever did.
You could message him for more details

If you are limited in fabrication and welding skills then you'll need a shop that can help you design and fabricate bumper mounts. Pick out a bumper you like and talk to the folks at https://www.facebook.com/Kapplerfab/ to discuss ideas on how they might fabricate bumper mounts that actually work. These guys are in Jefferson, you may find a shop closer to you.

Or get really good insurance and don't sweat it.

the man you want goes by the handle "1932" I think. His name is Tom from "north of sacramento". His 33 is the one with the aluminator coyote with the twin turbos and full running boards.. I see from his build thread that he just put it intoa ditch and smashed up the front end. Since his is remaking brackets he might be willing to take some pictures for you. he has a very complete build thread of some 50+ pages good luck.
