My hazards only work when the ignition is turned on and when you activate one of the blinkers by pushing the Russ Thompson turn stalk either up or down. I’m using the Ron Francis wire harness. I would assume that I have the hazard hooked up to key power and not full time power? Could it be something else? My headlights work fine as well as the running lights and blinkers.

Thanks

Something isn't right. There isn't a way to wire the hazards to only be powered when the ignition is on. They're powered by the pink Hazard Flasher wire coming out of the battery portion of the fuse panel along with brake lights, headlights, etc. Disconnect that wire from the switch and confirm it has +12V at all times. Key on or not. My wild guess is your hazard switch is wired wrong and the power they're getting is from the turn signal grey Flasher Feed wire. The hazard switch needs to be wired exactly like shown on the Ron Francis wiring diagram. With the exact double pole switch.

Did you use the supplied 6-pin switch that comes with the kit for the hazards? If so, which pins did you connect the RF harness to? You only want to use one end of the switch for both left/right flashers and the pink feed and pink jumper go to the center pins.

OK. One of the prongs on the original switch was broke so I ordered this switch from McMaster Carr.
https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/7343K821. I’m assuming this is the correct switch? If so, I will check the wiring tomorrow. Thanks again for all the help.

That switch should work fine. Just be sure you have the wires properly connected as I described above.

So first off the switch is wired correctly. I put a volt meter on the pink wire and jumper wires separately. When key is off it reads zero and with key on it reads .07? See134989134989ms Seems like to no power from the pink wire? 134988

So i tried something. I connected the hazard switch to a full time power panel underneath the dash. With that I get the hazards all to turn on with the key off but they don’t blink?

Have you tried switching the turn signal and hazard flashers? They're the same. Maybe the flasher one is defective. I assume you have bulbs in the fixtures. Maybe a dumb question because you're describing flashing. But maybe you're only talking about indicators. Have to ask. The standard flashers won't flash without bulbs.

Beyond that, time to start tracing wires. The pink wire goes through the dash harness. Check to make sure the wires line up through the connector. Errors have happened with others. Then trace to the fuse panel. I assume you've checked fuses.

Wired correctly, it simply doesn't make sense for the ignition on/off to affect the hazard function.

Are you running LEDs?

Nope

The fuse panel has two power inputs, one wired to the battery lead, the other to the ignition switch. That's correctly wired? It seems it may not be!
They aren't flashing because you ran power directly to the switch, but not through the flasher relay.

Start with the obvious -- no power at the feed wires. The pink hazard feed wire should be hot at all times. There are only four fuses on the BATT FED section of the fuse panel. I can't recall which protects the hazard circuit, but is should be one of the three 15A fuses. Check those first, and then as Paul suggests, swap the TS and Hazard flasher cans to try to rule out a bad flasher. You need to get power to the circuit before chasing any other issues.

Thank you all!!! The pink wire came out of the connector in the fuse panel. Everything now works. I will say electrical scares me in the sense I don’t really know anything about wiring. This project has definitely taught me how to trouble shoot and a better understanding in general. Thanks again for all the advice and walking me through the steps to figure it out.

….and I was just going to say "Make sure the pink wire is connected"......I was.....I SWEAR.....REALLY ! ok, I lied....sorry...da Bat

Funny thing about electrical issues. In the rear view mirror they're almost always seem simple and logical. But the challenge is getting to that point. Glad you figured it out.
