Hi All

I have the SPT intake and I am looking for ideas on how to best secure it to the frame or somewhere else. I am sure I can figure out something, but I'm curious as to what others have done. I couldn't find much on the forum about this.

For now mine is just hanging there, seems to be fine. I plan to build a tunnel around it to keep the hot engine air out and force it to take cool air from the vent, that will have a way to secure it when I build it.

The air in the engine's compartment gets pretty hot. I have not measured it. The exhaust manifold, up-pipe, turbo, down-pipe, and muffler are all big contributors to this heat.

I have a 3" silicon hose bring cool air into my airbox.

I was planning to go a little different route. I'm enlarging the scoop big time so I planning to build a duct that feeds into a 4"or 6" fan that will force air into the duct (since the scoop doesn't seem to be a high pressure area), and then force it out the back past the transmission. Probably find something to insulate the system with to try and keep the heat from the exhaust, turbo, downpipes from intruding into the system.

In this video, you can see pretty good air going into the side vents.

I don't have an SPT intake, but its similar to the Cobb I have, and same location.
I made a bracket from the Cobb mount attachment point to the angled frame tube. Sorry, I don't have a pic.
