Anyone replaced the vacuum at the boost gauge

Before I start replacing the vacuum line at the boost gauge (it was cut close to the back of that gauge on the donor car). How do you take the gauge apart to replace the line. Simply remove it from the steering column bezel and it is self apparent?

Once I removed the boost gauge from the steering column bezel, I found you can simply push it forward out of the pliable rubber housing. In retrospect knowing that, I'm sure you can do this in place without removing the bezel or gauge.
