Need engine advice

New member. Planning on building 818C.
Does anyone know for sure if later model WXR engines will fit? I will likely buy a new oem or overhauled after market engine and transmission?
Can I install the latest model into my 818?

I don't think the physical dimensions have changed so fitting the engine should be no problem. Motor mounts may have changed. I'm sure it could be done.

Wiring and ECU will be your issue. iWire was looking for someone to try and fit the newer WRX 2.0L motor combo into an 818. Give them a call to see if they still need a tester for the harness. You will need the original ECU and wire harness, not just the motor and trans.

The turbo on the newer engines is in the front and down low. It might be a tight fit as the engine in the 818 sits pretty close to the fire wall.
