I don't know if this helps anyone, but I had trouble following the FFR instructions to remove the final drive hub from the the axle. I spent an hour + doing something that took less than 5 minutes once I figured it out.

I placed the axle in a vise, as recommended. I tapped a few times with a dead blow hammer. I tapped a few more times. I re-positioned it. I re-positioned me. I tapped. I tapped some more.

Finally, I clamped it in the vise, took a 4" section of 2x4 and set it on the final drive segment. Using a 24 oz framing hammer, I wailed on the 2x4. After 3 whacks, I saw some splines emerge, as there was movement. 3 whacks later, it was off. The other axle was undone in the same way, but with 2 whacks. I put a bucket under the axle, so when things went flying, they'd be semi contained.

Get yourself a 4lb engineering hammer. It'll be the best $10 you ever spend at harbor freight. (And yes, the biggest mini-sledges are indeed called engineering hammers.)

Yup, that's the first one I saw. About a dozen up there, if I remember correctly.
