E-brake handle assembly

The instruction manual shows me vaguely how to run the e-brake cables and then tells me to install the cables to the ebrake handle and adjust. I have 3 bags of hardware for the ebrake handle containing lots of nuts & bolts etc but no instructions how to assemble it. Are there instructions that I'm missing or is there a better option for ebrake than this system?

Hi Don, do you have the complete kit? MY complete kit assembly manual (revision 4g Oct 2016) has the assembly of the e-brake handle beginning on page 242. Good luck.

As already mentioned, the instructions should be in your manual. But just in case, FF also has the instructions on their website: http://www.factoryfiveparts.com/content/instructions/15183-ebrake-handle-instructions.pdf. The handle works OK. Go with it.

The e-stop system is great but I do not think it will fit the roadster. It's roughly 2" x 2" x 15" and I have no clue where you could fit it and have it work properly.

As for the FFR e-brake handle assembly, there should be a blow apart image of the assemble that is pretty easy to figure out. There is no step by step for the handle if I remember correctly.

Can't help you with the e-stop. I've seen some discussion about it but no personal experience. The FF provided system works OK. There are lots of discussions about it. Some move it because they don't like the location or claim that can't reach it when belted in. I'm very average size and don't have a problem with it. Never quite understood that one. There are so many variations in rear suspensions and brake calipers that a lot of the discussion is getting the right cables, the best routing, the right connection to the caliper, etc. Most of those would still need to be addressed with the e-stop. Then there are those like me that don't like routing the cable under the chassis tube. But that has a fix too that I showed in my build thread. But completely a personal preference. Tons have been built exactly like FF shows.

Actually I posted a link to the step-by-step instructions that FF has on their website. I recall this being in my build manual as well. But haven't looked at that for a couple years.

I'm actually planning an E-brake install. I have a hand brake installed already and it works fine but i just don't care for it. It needs to be tweaked so it clears the trans tunnel side wall a bit more plus it needs to be dressed up for astetics.

The E-brake is not something I am just going to jump into. Fitment could prove to be the biggest challenge to overcome. Not to mention the cost. 500 bucks and back to the drawing board vs. moving the existing hand brake with mike eversons hand brake handle. Hmmmm....
