View Full Version : Gurgling Master Cylinder
I'm getting air in my brake lines and can't figure out where. I've bled twice and things look ok, but the next day the pedal is soft. I don't see that I am leaking anywhere. However, when I release the pedal, I can hear a slight gurgling noise coming from 1 of the MCs (I am using the wilwood dual cylinders from the complete kit).
Any ideas?

Did you bleed the front and back at the same time?
If you did them separately then it is nearly impossible to get all of the air out because you cannot completely depress both cylinders at the same time unless the front and back are bled at the same time.
You can do front then back on once side of the car, but you cannot lift the pedal until both front and rear are done.
Start with the longest run first, which is the passenger side, then move over to the driver's side.
A three person team does make it easier, plus roses for your wife if she is helping!
Trust me on the roses.
Hope This Helps!

I didn't, I did one at a time. Would air in the lines cause the sound I'm hearing?

Yes, it would.
When you depress the brake pedal, you'll see one M/C probably bottom out or come close to it while the other only goes down a bit.
Try gravity bleeding first, starting with the back right rear then move to the left rear.
Do the same for the front with the passenger side first, then the driver's side.
Then bleed the passenger side (Front & Back) with the pedal depressed and then repeat on the driver's side.
It's a real pain in the, you pick the body part, because it takes a while.
