Steering rack ports

Do I need to put anything in the ports of the steering rack where the pressure and return lines go? I know I need to connect the two ports on the side of the rack.

I just welded up the fittings and sealed mine up.

[Hindsight]

You can also use JB Weld to seal them. Make sure the area is well cleaned and dry before using it.
