Hi Everyone,
I will be ordering my 818c within the next 6 months but am going to be doing a quick engine refresh before hand as I already have the donor completely stripped. I Used to have an 04 WRX wagon and ran 3mm phenolic spacers and was happy with the added cooling I noticed. I am wondering if there is enough room to fit either the 3mm or 8mm phenolic spacers from Grimmspeed as I saw one build thread that had mentioned difficulty angling the engine into place. My donor is an EJ20 out of a 2005 WRX.
Thanks in advance.

The 8mm make it a bit tight. I have those on my build.

I went with the zerolift TGV deletes which are phenolic/plastic for the same reason.

And can you use the spacers with an air to water intercooler?

the deletes are the same size as stock TGV's. I'm not sure if the spacers would add too much height or not but If I add 8mm to my intake height it would still clear the fiberglass hood.

I have the 8mm spacers and AWIC. I also ground the motor twice. Above the spacer to frame, and below spacer to frame.

8mm GrimmSpeed phenolics on the 818R, no fitment issues.

Wouldn't it ground through the bolts?

I've seen issues in the past with other people. I did it just as precaution
