'Wondering if anyone else has encountered this or a similar issue;
I have the (giant) Wilwood front brakes, and the outer tie rod boot contacts the rotor. Bigger than normal boots? I was told that the Subaru parts are 2005 WRX. 58391

I have the 12" kit and the rotors are much thinner 1.1"?. The baer bumpsteer kit may solve your issue, my joints look to be smaller than those.

Like Longislandwrx. Here is a picture with baer bump steer kit but with standard rotors (24mm).

Thanks for the notes.
A trip to the boneyard found the "old" rack and ends that came with my buy. The tie rod ends I have are larger than the OEM. Anyone interested in some new parts at a good price?
They would probably work fine with stock parts, and they are listed as fitting 2005 WRX.

Question about the close proximity of the ball joint and the brake disks. Does the heat from the brakes have an impact on the the ball joint?
Also, is this a Wilwood issue or are the OEM disks also close to the ball joints?

There should be a stock dust shield that helps as a heat shield.

The dust shields came with the donor, if they were still on.

I bought the Moog "problem solver" tie rod ends and have the same issue. Stock tie rod ends fit fine. I guess they are just too damn fat.

Mine fit about the same, never got around to making a small heat shield, haven't had any issues.

Brian,
Did you have any issues with the castle nut going past the hole for the pin once you torqued it.. I bought the Moog lower ball joints and same issue.. thanks!!

I haven't torqued them down yet, but a washer should fix that if it happens. I was going to maybe grind the metal ring on the rotor side of the tie rod outer and re-fit the boot to see if it can get some clearance.

Thanks.. that was my plan too... had the same problem with the ball joints too.. never had a problem with Moog parts before... struck me as weird..
