This is a duplicate post from my build thread.

Michael and I listened to some of the suggestion on here and decided to go with the liquid/liquid oil cooler and the remote oil filter.
This first picture is the oil filter mount to the post behind the driver.
The mounting plate has 4 ports. I used them for oil in, oil out, oil pressure sensor and oil temperature sensor.
The 2 sensors are wired into my ECU for logging and Dash board display.

At the bottom of the above picture you can see the liguid/liquid heat exchanger. I also added a sensor to measure the coolant temperature out of the radiator. The cold side of the radiator is cooling the oil before it goes back into the engine. Here is a picture of the heat exchanger form the bottom side of the engine.

I used a canton block to get the oil out of the block. Here is another picture form the underside of the engine.

What engine is that oil filter for? If it's not oem Subaru, do you know if the bypass pressure is correct?

Fits mostly fords. 8-11 psi relief valve same as a wix 51356 Subaru filter.

Can I ask what Liquid/liquid oil cooler y'all used? Sorry if I missed it.

I use the same oil filter and remote type mounts for about 7 years now on all my EJ engines. Only problem I've had is the headers for lack of better term "melt" my hoses and cause them to burst. Went to hard aluminum lines with -10an Tube nuts resolved the issue.

Thanks
Dave

Hey Dave,
this is what I used for the oil cooler:

I'm running OEM shielding on the exhaust.

I think that does a pretty good job. But after Wayne's recent experience. Maybe I should do something better to protect the hoses.

I used steel hard lined on my dry sump scavenge lines. They run very close to the header.

Bob, is that the Canton 22-597? Did the bolt reach and thread straight into the block, or did you need a union fitting? Thanks.

Yes it is a 22-597. It threaded right to a 1.5x20 nipple in the block.
I did grind on the corners of the canton block to get the rotation I wanted.
