View Full Version : Car is running rich
Hey guys, I need your help. My car has been running poorly for a while now and I'm running out of ideas. I did some data logging and it's running super rich at idle (11.6). The engine is from an 02 donor and is Cobb stage 2 w/ an SF intake. I've replaced the front o2 sensor, MAF, and plugs (fouled). Anyone have any other ideas on what could be causing this?

Mods, you can delete this. I "may" have figured it out. The above data log was taken after I found the PCV hose disconnected. I think that was causing a lean condition and the ECU was trying to compensate. Once it was plumbed back up, the ECU still had the correction in causing it to be rich. I did an ECU reset and A/F ratio was at normal. It still has a slight miss, but running much better and not smoking.

For future troubleshooting, you may consider building an intake pressure tester. Search it on Nasioc. Cheap and easy to make and will help you detect and locate other leaks. It's very easy to forget to reconnect a hose or two.

Good call, thanks.

If your not getting any error codes the miss could just be the normal idle with the stock unequal length exhaust. I thought the same thing when I first got my subaru.
Hope this helps....Walt
