I have seen some R run without rearview mirror just using side mirrors, not sure I totally like that, also I have seen at least one R using a GoPro reverse facing and a direct HDMI connection to a dash screen, almost zero latency, thoughts ?

I am running sans rearview and haven't had an issue. It would be nice, I guess. But I hear they vibrate a lot. That was Chad's experience with his

Tony, not sure of the length of the post. I think this is what Chad had at one time https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=MIRRORSPACTR
I am planning on just side mirrors.

Are you using one? I have been looking into this and can't find any real good systems with nice reviews. I will have an inter cooler in the way of my rear view (818c). What are you using?

I know the center drive 818 is using a GoPro 4 with no latency

Awesome I didn't notice that the hero 4 can stream over wifi! I will have to look into finding a used one :D.

Yes, we have in one of our endure cars. the cameras are really small and wireless, you need one with night vision setting.

I ditched my rearview mirror for a couple reasons:
1. It was right in my line of sight for right turn apex corners- it blocked vision badly and I did not want to modify it- not worth it.
2. You can't see crap out of it anyway because of humps/wing
3. Side mirrors are all I needed

How do you get it without any latency? I'm thinking direct wired and not wireless? The wireless has about 2-3 seconds of latency.
My NP01 has a camera setup. I'm still testing things out with it.

Yes direct wire but you will still get a "slight" delay, but it's useable if there are no really really fast cars behind you

SPA now make a build your own center mirror which may work for some folks http://spatechnique.com/store/itemDetail.cfm?prodID=981&catID=7

That is kinda cool, might take a little work to control vibration but worth a look.

I welded a flat plate to the front hoop 2x2 and the base of the mirror will mount there and then drill a 1/2" hole in dash for the mirror stem to come up through

That should do it. Years ago the Tiga S2000 I drove had just a center mirror like what is on the link that was mounted to the front bulk head that worked pretty well. the big difference is other than the intake snorkel that car had a flat rear deck.
Tony are you still on target for your first track event day?

When we originally built the car I added a simple 1" steel strap to the 'V' in the dash and bolted this on: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=11174
In a happy accident the windscreen covers the hole to the mount actually goes through the Lexan and keeps it from shaking.
