So for those that have gone to AWIC system, how dod you plumb your electric coolent pump? I have found a spot to mount it in the front but am curoius how everyone has it plumbed in, with hot coolent going through it and pushing it into the rad? or after the rad back to the AWIC? it seems to make sense to have it after the rad.

Check out my build thread. http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?19383-Wyoming-818R-Build-Thread&p=223241&viewfull=1#post223241

The cold side is the pressured system on mine.

There's a thread on this somewhere. I can look for it when I'm not on a phone.

I mounted mine after the radiator and pushing coolant back to the AWIC. I did that with the thought that the pump motor will last longer if it doesn't have hot fluid running through it. But I have no real reason to think the Bosch pump I'm using would have any problem with the temps coming from the AWIC. Absent any info, cooler seems safer than hotter.

Found it:

Mine puts the pump at the lowest point so that it self primes and is after the heat exchanger. My pump mounts on a custom bracket that utilizes two of the frozen boost clamps. It let me put the pump off a frame rail, get better positioning for the inlet and outlet (for my needs), and hold it more securely. I actually have a bag of 10 or so of those brackets, just need to tap them and make the angled brace for them and they'll be offered for sale.

I mounted mine next to the battery like most others.

Coolant flow:
Heat exchanger lower outlet ==> Pump inlet, Pump outlet ==> AWIC, AWIC ==> reservoir upper inlet, Reservoir lower outlet ==> Heat exchanger upper inlet

The pump is at the lowest point, the reservoir is at the highest point

Where did you get your reservoir from? I haven't found one that isn't intended as an ice box (which I don't need).

It's a used Canton reservoir that has 0.75" barbs that fit my AWIC lines. I picked it up on Ebay for $25, but new they sell for $144.

I would try to find a used one since new ones are so expensive

I used an 03/04 mustang cobra stock inter-cooler tank I got used off Craigslist for $20. I also install the pump by the fuel tank with the tank feeding the pump after the inter-cooler.
Clear tanks with checking fluid level and watching fluid moving.

thanks everyone for the ideas, I was thinking of the install after the heat exchanger which is good, I also have a coolent fill port with a rad cap to go in line that sits above the intercooler. and was going to have a small external resevoir to collect any expansion.
