I made great progress wiring the car today, but could not figure out where to plug into the Wastegate solenoid. Since I bought a pallet donor and didn't take the car apart, some of "where does this go" questions have stumped me for a bit.

I eventually figured out (thank you NASIOC) that is it remotely mounted and connected between the red cap here and the broken intake pipe (which I ordered a new one tonight). BTW, the intake looks like a real pain to install, hoping not, but not optimistic.

I haven't been able to figure out the part number for an '07, but COBB makes one that is one click away.

Since I didn't get the valve with my donor, I'll be buying a new one. Any pro's and con's between stock and the Cobb that I should watch out for? Anybody know the part number for the stock one?

Thanks

Couple things.

Make sure you have the restrictor pill in the correct WG line. Your WG duty cycle will be off otherwise.

Know that if you get an aftermarket EBCS that you will require a tune. They are not plug and play.

Thanks, not sure what the pill looks like, but I'll search on that next.

Lots of searching for the BCS part number and eventually found the stock part number 16102AA380 for the 06-07 WRX's. Goes by the name "VALVE AY DUTY SOLENOID" in the Subaru catalog which was why it was so hard to find. $30 bucks so I'll get that on order and go stock for now.

It looks like a little brass pill.

Should be inside the vacuum line between the T and the nipple on the turbo.

If you since along the length of hose you should be able to feel it in there.

If you swap it and it is in between the T and the waste gate, the turbo won't spool or bleed off air through the WG properly.

My pill is located in the hose right under the tape.

Found the pill, looked just like that and was under a piece of tape.

The pill is in the right location then.

Should be GTG as soon as you get that BCS.

To hook up the BCS, one hose comes off the T and goes to the BCS (nipple perpendicular to the BCS). Then run a hose from the BCS (Nipple pointing down) to the turbo inlet (The nipple on the inlet that comes off of it at a right angle, closest to the air intake). Be gentle, that nipple on the turbo inlet likes to snap off.

Got the valve today. I'll run to the store this weekend to get some vacuum lines and should be able to hook it all up. The '07 valve the connection point the same direction, but it clipped right into the electrical connector.47286

Far as I can tell it was used on the STI and was added to WRX's for '06- including the next body style '08-. Since I don't have the one from my car, I cannot tell for sure and I got this part number from opposedforces.com (http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/us_g11/type_12/carter_ventilation_recirculation/emission_control_egr/).

Never seen one on an 06. Only late in the year production 07s and later.

Either way lower port to the T, upper port to the intake and you should be good to go.

Good to know you've seen it on some '07's at least. First experience I had with an EJ motor was when it showed up in a box at my garage. Took me forever to find the part number and was very happy that it fit the electrical connector that I did have from the donor.
