I just got a steering column in the mail. The column has a bend at the end of the shaft is this normal?

Definitely not normal. Should be dead in the center.

You didn't say which end of the steering column was bent.
I can tell you that the OEM steering wheel on my son's impreza isn't exactly round.
I think it's designed that way.
By the way.
Be careful spinning the wheel with it not in a car. You will break the watch spring.

Its the end of the column/shaft, part that goes into the knuckle that connects to the steering rack. My pic might help identify it better.
Assembly goes Column shaft(possible bent) -> ujoint/knuckle -> steering rack

I didn't notice the pictures on your first post.
That is definitely a bad steering column.
