So I have read several thread about people wanting to go off the beating path.

I love the sound of the subbie engine and know they are a great engine however not really what I want. The Ford EcoBoost is a great option that I am considering as well. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the size of the engine bay. With talk of the Honda K series, all electric builds, using Porsche engines. Not saying I couldn't go with a EJ series engine just want to explore other options I am already familiar with.

I am looking at the Toyota 2AR-FE or 8AR-FTS mated to a EB62 gearbox or a 2GR-FE mated to an E153. (all transversely mounted) Globally the Toyota engines are easier to find for donor vehicles and are just a reliable as a Subbie. granted its a kit car and only thing stopping this is money and time.

Yes I know I don't own a kit yet and I am thinking of getting a 818c on order but before I do I was looking for some feed back.
