Ride height

On my 818S I have set my ride height 4.5 inches floor to frame as per manual. There is a lot of space between fenders and tops of tires and it looks a little awkward. Should I lower the car and risk contact with driveway crests and speed bumps or leave as is? Are many people going with a lower ride height?

I think mine is lower than that. I hit on everything. I have even dragged the rear diffuser. I will measure my ride height when I get a chance.

We originally set the ride height at 4.5 unloaded.
With 600 lbs of passenger it dropped down to 4". We had issued with tire rubbing fenders and getting the car on and off trailers.

We went up to 5" unloaded an stiffer springs. All is good now.

I want to get as close to 5" of clearance as I can. I found this for the rears

"Rear shock spring preload, adjust it before putting it on the car. From the bottom of the spring perch to the bottom of the threaded sleeve is about 3" at ride height. Much easier off the car since you have to put 3/4"ish of preload on spring."

I set my rears at 3.25" in hopes my ride height is close to 5"

Are the fronts similar? I would figure it's less because of the lighter load in the front.

My fronts are about 2.75 and I'm sitting around 5.25 ride height. It was around 5.5 in go-cart mode so remember to take into account the weight of everything else you have yet to add (including yourself) and that these springs are not the highest quality and tend to take a bit of a set over time.

In addition, don't sweat the ride height too much until you have your final wheel/tires installed and air pressures set. You can easily gain or lose a quarter of an inch or more there.
