just out of curiosity I noticed after watching some videos of people driving there 818s the rear trans moves up alot when under load while driving I know people are going to the harder mounts but has any one thought of making mounts on the frame at the rear and securing the trans down with a hard dog bone mount that has a slight bit of play but stops it from moving as much as it does.

I know the drag racing guys used to put a piece of chain on the frame to the front corner of the engine to prevent the engine from lifting under heavy loads when launching.

thoughts?

I know there has been at least 1 person to put a mount at the rear of the trans to stiffen it up. Can't recall who but they posted a picture.

I will look into it and see, it seems to make sence, the stock subaru had the upper dog bone from the firewall to the engine I am guessing that is what that was for on the WRX?

Yup. Called a pitch stop on the WRX. The person that did it on here used something off of an Impala, I think

Yes, I put one in. I have recently put in stiffer mounts all around. The engine does want to move around, most noticeably in first gear around parking lot type driving.

Wasn't there another builder who put one right at the tail end of the transmission?

Just installed one on the tail end of the trans using an old sway bar end link, if it seems to work I will put something a little stronger. When I am ready I will video tape the engine trans with and without it.
I have pics on my build blog.
