I remember seeing someone recently that used the Airlift Coolant filling vacuum tool, yet I can't find the thread. I'm thinking of buying the tool, and wanted to see if they were happy with the results. I'm curious if they just vacuumed out the degas tank, or raised the front of car and did the radiator.

Any thoughts?

I do, it brought it to 5 psi and than used special yellow funel kit. All on degas tank with Waynes mod work flawlessly. Like 20 mins done.

Did you fill anything in radiator? Or will the vacuum from degas tank fill it? I imagine you use the yellow funnel last to make sure everything is out.

Just degas, system was empty.

Hope it works as well as the reviews claim.

I have it, specifically the UView 550000 Airlift Cooling System Leak Checker and Airlock Purge Tool Kit. It works great. The first time is a little slow as you figure out how to use it. Once you get familiar it's fast as heck. Way faster than what the FSM says to do.

I bought that tool. I plan on using it today after work.

I have it and used it.
The first fill when it was empty was great. Just pour all your coolant into a 5 gallon bucket before you start. You don't want to be moving the suction line between 1 gallon jugs while filling. And have the bucket at around the same level as the cooling system (not on ground, you reduce suction).

I had to do some maintenance and make some changes to my cooling system. The system had plenty of coolant in different areas. I tried using the Airlift again and I don't know if I didn't 'suck' long enough or you can't use it unless its completely empty, but it didn't do as good as a job the second time, took many heat cycles to get it full again. While using the Airlift on a partially filled system there was a lot of coolant mist coming out of the exhaust port of the Airlift.

Can the Airlift be used effectively on a partially filled system?
