Reusing the FFR shift cables

Hi all,

I would like to go with either the Ktune shifter or mr2 conversion.

The deciding factor for me is price. Can the standard shift cables on the 818 be converted (shortened) to be used with the mr2 shifter or do you need brand new cables?

Scargo asked that here And no one had an answer. I'm sure you could do it with some specialty tools but unless you already had those tools buying new cables is likely cheaper.
