Saw my first center drive 818R this weekend, not a bad, electric, shifter and fire system on right side, fuel behind the seat, and both water lines on the left side. Looks much like a FSR, easy in/out.

Is it local?

Yea, some co-worker are building it, pretty slick steering rack, column and pedal assembly.

I was out dropping off some 818 parts that they wanted and forgot to bring my phone/camera. I'll be back out there soon. They are taking some interesting approaches, the rear suspension is using all swedge bars, redesigned dash pod for center drive. They will be running an EJ207v8 (twin scroll), wiring is complete (pretty good job).

I would love to know where the fuel cell is. I dont think my 17 gallon fuel safe cell can run an hour at the track (probably 45 or 50 min of racing). These turbos are thirsty!

The fuel cell is behind the seat (looks like mine but is wider and shorter), the cell holds 22 gal. of fuel. This will be a bone stock 230hp EJ207v8. This is a car that is being built to run enduros.

OK, I guess I've been outed.

Yes, I am building a center-seat 818R. I am one of the drivers of the Momentary Racing team (you can find us on Facebook) and with luck and continued hard work we hope to campaign the car at this year's 25hour. I have been very busy designing, engineering, sourcing, and building, so have not taken a lot of pictures or taken time to write up the build. Here is a teaser picture to give you an idea of where I am:

At this point I believe the hard parts are done. I am currently working on the switch panel then need to start mounting body panels so I can build the wing support. After that, the chassis gets all the new welding finished up and goes off to powder coat so I can do final assembly. This being an endurance race car I need to account for easy ingress/egress for driver changes, where we will put the drink system, etc.

I'll post more pictures later.

Very cool, we are trying our best, but won't take an unproven car to the show, so we have to have ours done by the October endure or we won't be going this year. Still waiting on our 30 gallon cell and some other custom bits.

And no, I'm not kidding, 30 gallons.

By October, do you mean the Portland 8 hour enduro? I hope you make it, that is our goal too.

Which class will you run if you are ready in time?

Yes, we are trying for the 8 hour, we will have to see how things progress though. We always run the unlimited class, have a few wins in the old "u" class
