Could you put a Porsche boxer engine in an 818? I mean it is a Subaru isn't it??

Pete, it's a kit car if you have the skills and equipment ANYTHING is possible, a porsche should be relatively easy, not sure about engine length and clearance. 3 cyl per side vs two
And Pete, you don't have the skills as we both know! :-)

Porsche and Subaru engines have nothing in common other than being a boxer.

if it's the early boxster engine you wouldn't want to with the leaks it's prone to. If I remember 03 and newer were much more reliable. I know at least 98-00 are ones to stay away from.

Just put a flat 6 air cooled 3.2-3.6 with PMO carbs. No intercooler, dry sump, radiators, fancy electronics needed. I should of went that route.

The Boxster I don't know it's length, but the 911's engine (recent ones but not sure if it was 3.3 or 3.6) will not fit unless you find a way to extend the distance between the rear firewall and the axle centers. I measured it. Of course if you can extend, then yes it's possible. No idea what happens to the body panels, extend as well, maybe.
