So, I purchased an early (2003) STI 6MT trans and FFR's 6 speed adapter kit. Little did I know that their adapter kit was designed for the USDM 2006-2007 6MT transmission ONLY. I bought the possum motorsports adapter kit and that didnt work either, so now I need to buy a regular 5MT WRX transmission. I know that the 02-07 5MT transmission works with FFR's transmission adapter and block off plates. My question is if a 2008-2014 WRX transmissions will work with FFR kit. The Subaru transmission cases visually look the same for 2002-2014. Has anyone used a newer than 2008 WRX trans? I want to verify this before I drop another $1500 on a used transmission after I've spent nearly $4k on my STI 6MT trans and conversion parts. I'd like to buy the newest transmission I can. Thanks in advance

I do know that the 08+ do not have a speedo gear inside. I'm more concerned if FFR adapter parts work on a 2012+/- transmission.

I am also interested in info for newer 5MT's, I have a 2012 WRX and I think that transmission's ratios would be better for the 818, if the adapters work..

Search the forum for legacy transmission. I'm certain someone is running an +08 legacy GT 5spd trans on here. Chad or Jerome maybe? Sucks about the 6spd, I hope FFR develops a kit for other year 6 spds, more importantly JDM ones as their plentiful. I'd imagine in a few years they'll be in high demand once we see more 350hp+ builds.

I had a 2012 WRX transmission. Works fine with the adapter.

I have a pair of 2005 Legacy GT transmissions. They don't have the speedo gear in the trans like the WRX's. You could convert it. I didn't because its a race car and I have a GPS speedo in the datalogging.
