Anyone know what this hose connector on top of the engine block is for?
My donor engine did not have this extra hose connection point on top of the engine block. I looked in the subaru manual and could not find a reference to it either.

I'm guessing your donor was a 2.0 and your new block is a 2.5?
The 2.0 had a single vent from the case to the intake. The 2.5's have the same vent but also have a vent that Tee's into a line connecting the heads. The 2.0heads have a single PCV vent, the 2.5's have dual vents on the valve cover. One of them tee's into the turbo inlet (like the 2.0) while the other tee's into that port.
It's hard to see exactly what you're point at in the photo, but I think that's what it is.

So I found this thread http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/engine-modifications/134304964-freaking-hose-fell-off-somewhere-i-cant-find-2.html#post2366632 which shows the vent ports clearly on a shortblock. Then in post 19 http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/engine-modifications/134304964-freaking-hose-fell-off-somewhere-i-cant-find-2.html#post2367904 Rogan suggests capping it. Its the ideal solution and I dont see what could go wrong especially since my donor didn't have this vent. Can someone confirm that capping this OK?
