For those that are further along and mounting the body, any issue with placing a secondary coolant overflow tank up front as seen in this picture? Currently just zip tied in place, but I'm thinking the top of the cap would be about level with the top frame rail and this could help prevent issues with air getting trapped in the radiator.

I think most are not useing a tank up front because the front pressure cap is rated for a higher pressure than the one at the engine

Hi Bill,

I wouldn't think it would cause too many issues in that position.

I have my windshield washer reservoir located in a similar spot, without any problems.

Excuse the finger over the lens!....:

I have one for coolant out rear next to degas tank. My front one is for awic. It only needs one with Wayne's coolant mod.

Where are you going to attach it to the cooling system? I left my stock tank in place, but ran it to the nipple on the filler neck on my Mishimoto radiator. I'm not sure it helps, but I could get air to come out of the nipple as I was burping the system. I ignored the manual's instructions to mount the tank in back - it's too ugly to clutter up the engine compartment, in my view - and instead made a pretty coolant reservoir for the back. l also added the nipple to bleed the system on the engine, as Wayne recommends. Altogether, it works great and lets me get all the air out in one or two heat cycles.

my plan is to mirror the stock layout as closely as possible.

In the front, I have this setup with the overflow bottle ($8 on Amazon) connected to the radiator cap.

Since the degas nipple in the top corner of the radiator is capped, I have an elbow with a little t branch coming off the top of the motor - essentially the same idea as Wayne's (stole the specific idea from Goldwing - it is a Volkswagen elbow). The runs to the top of the degas tank where the nipple on the radiator would have run to.

Then, in the back, I have another overflow bottle (same as above) running from the radiator cap back there. In the stock setup, both radiator caps run to the same bottle, but since they are so far apart, I figured I'd just do 2 bottles, instead of a long run of skinny line.

Hopefully this makes sense.

I have one in the front and one in the back of both my builds. I just go to salvage yard and get an extra one.
