View Full Version : Remote Reservoir Install

I'm working on installing Mike Everson's remote brake/clutch reservoir. I'd rather avoid mounting as his directions instruct due to need for windshield wipers. I'm trying to think ahead and mount in a location that won't interfere with anything wiper related.

Would this mounting location work? My only concern is that the reservoir ports feeding the clutch/brake cylinders will be slightly lower than the inputs of the clutch/brake cylinders. That's a recipe for getting air stuck between the reservoir and the master cylinder. I'm planning on using a pneumatic bleeder when putting fluid in. Will that be strong enough to purge all the air in the line regardless of the height of the reservoir?

It needs to be higher so the flow is always there. I would not risk being "close" with brakes. You never see reservoirs on the bottom. :) I could not get my Motive brake bleeder on the new reservior. I need to see if there is an adapter.

BTW I installed his kit. I just kept the clutch master in (how often do you need to bleed that?). I installed it with one port for the front circuit, and the other for the back. That way no chance of brake failure.

I did not feel comfortable the way the instructions showed with the clutch master included.

Thanks for the input - back to the drawing board.

I mounted the reservoir to the wiper assembly bracket. Although I have not yet installed the body, I did put the windshield in place and it appears that everything will clear.37708

Wouldn't it be easier to use a reverse bleeder?

This is similar to the one I was referring to.

I haven't tried it yet. Borrowed it from a family member that was happy with it.
